Nano vs Pico
Using less sample is the main advantage; however, the top end of the
Pico range is pretty low so it is often easier for people with plenty of
RNA to submit undiluted samples for the Nano assay. Additionally, while
the Bioanalyzer is considered only semi-quantitative, the Nano assay has
better quantitative accuracy than the Pico assay (20%CV within chip for
Nano versus 30%CV within chip for Pico).
The acceptable concentration ranges of the Nano versus Pico are:

Nano: 25ng/ul-500ng/ul (Total) or 50ng/ul-500ng/ul (mRNA)
Pico: 50pg/ul-5ng/ul (Total) or 250pg/ul-5ng/ul (mRNA)
